What My Customers Say
When was the work done?
The work was carried out in April, 2009.
What was involved?
It was a full home heating installation with new boilers and radiators.
How did you choose Cabinteely Gas Heating and Plumbing?
Word of mouth from a friend. We've been badly stung over the years with workmen. There's a lot of cowboys out there which is why this time we wanted somebody recommended. My wife saw the work that Aaron had done for a friend, thought it was nice and we decided to go with him.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Aaron?
My wife and I weren't really sure what was necessary. We left that up to Aaron.
Did Aaron introduce new ideas?
He did, yes. Aaron checked out the system we had, suggested different options and gave us what what we felt was good advice on what needed to be done. We went with Aaron's recommendation and we're very happy we did.
How did the project run?
I like the way Aaron and his team carried out the work. I understand that it's a building site but it's also someone's home. They were very respectful and tried to minimise any disruption. They did a good job because my wife, who is very fussy was happy. Aaron was able to start the job right away which I was happy about too. Sometimes you hire someone, pay them the money and then you have to chase them down to do the work.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using Cabinteely Gas Heating and Plumbing?
Aaron came across as very honorable. He sat down with my wife and I and went into detail as to what was available and what he recommended. Aaron speaks to you as opposed to at you. That made a big difference with me.
Would you recommend Cabinteely Gas Heating and Plumbing to others?
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Aaron. My wife and I own several apartments and we'll be using Aaron again. It's hard to get a good plumber and when you find one, you keep them.
Any tips for other people?
Try to get names for references and speak to them if possible. That's what we did and it made a big difference. I've had so many jobs done that I could write a book about my experiences with tradespeople. In the past I've spent time and money chasing people down who didn't do what they said they would.
Customer reference for bathroom fitout services by Denise Hayden Murphy from Monkstown on 26-May-2009
When was the work done?
The work was started in January, 2009 and finished on schedule.
What was involved?
The original project was extending the bathroom by taking a piece out of a room behind it and then refurbishing it. Because they did such a good job on the first bathroom, I got them to refurbish the ensuite bathroom as well.
How did you choose Cabinteely Gas Heating and Plumbing?
I work with the wife of one of Aaron's business associates. He's been my electrician for a long time and he works with Aaron.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Aaron?
I knew exactly what I wanted but everybody kept saying it couldn't be done. I wanted the bathroom extended, refurbished and a shower, bath and bidet installed. Until Aaron was brought in I was told it wasn't possible. Aaron not only confirmed that I wasn't hallucinating but that what I wanted done would be no problem. The bathroom is magnificent and it's exactly what I wanted.
Did Aaron introduce new ideas?
In this case it wasn't necessary. It's not that they wouldn't have been able to offer advice, it's just that I'm one of those people who knew exactly what I wanted. I chose all the fittings myself but they were helpful in recommending to me different places to go.
How did the project run?
They started and finished the project on time. At the end of every day they took up the dust sheets and vacuumed before leaving. It was a dream. One of their rules was that they won't even allow you to offer to make tea for them.
When they had to take down a wall to extend the toilet, a new stud wall was needed to be built. Before they started that, they put up a partition to keep dust out of the bedroom and keep it from being wrecked. The carpet was neatly rolled up and then put back and new skirting and coving was added. These were things I hadn't thought of but were included with the original price. These weren't extras.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using Cabinteely Gas Heating and Plumbing ?
It wasn't a nightmare. You hear stories of builders leaving homes a wreck, messy or the job takes so long that you wonder if they'll be joing joining you for the Christmas dinner. Another benefit for me was that Aaron took care of getting in a tiler and a plasterer. I didnt have to set that up or deal with any of it.
What's your favourite part now?
The two bathrooms are lovely.
Would you recommend Cabinteely Gas Heating and Plumbing to others?
I would highly recommend Aaron. He's an absolute treasure and a dream to have in the home.
Any tips for other people?
Before taking on any project, know what you want. It must be frustrating for a tradesman to come in and have to deal with someone who isn't sure what they want or changes their mind once the work starts.
